We Are Dancing in the Forest

We are Dancing in the Forest is a song used to introduce and practice the Kodaly concept "La". Explain the song in a story like fashion, explaining to the students what is happening in the story. I used song and game with my class not expecting much but my students really enjoyed it!

Game Instructions

Learn the song

Pick a wolf to sit in a seat facing away from the class.

Sing the song and have students "forest creatures" dance around in the forest.

On the word "play" the wolf turns around and tries to spot anyone moving. Anyone the wolf spots is out/has been eaten and has to go sit down.

Play one to two more rounds and then pick a new wolf.
