Ida Red

Ida Red helps teach the rhythms ti-tika/ti-tiri, and tika-ti/tiri-ti in the kodaly music classroom. I use this song to teach about communication back in the day. We discuss how mail was not delivered every day like it is now but instead once a week if you were lucky. There was no texting, no phone calls, no internet! The only way to communicate with someone was through letters. This tends to baffle students! Feel free to add ostinato with body percussion or instruments to this song.
